Nothe Fort, Weymouth

Description of Work

The restoration of Nothe Fort, Weymouth to its
original condition as a showpiece in all areas of the
UK’s Military history.
The project consisted of the reprofiling of the existing
ramparts and the installation of damp proof
membranes.
Other works included extensive masonry repairs, the
installation of a disabled lift, repairs to historic railings
and the installation of new railings.
The project also consisted of refurbishment works to
the existing shop installing a new lighting and fire
detection system.

Challenges

This project was a ‘live environment’ working closely
alongside the general public requiring extreme care
and attention at all times to ensure their safety. The
site was also exposed to severe weather conditions
being situated on the sea front.
